OVERVIEW
- During the month after Tavern Championships, Regional Championships are held in markets with at least 5 hosting Taverns.

- The Top Players from each bar are invited to compete for even bigger prizes and the chance to move on to the National Championship.
-
- The Regional Championship schedule & locations will be posted on the website towards the end of each season with the goal of choosing locations that are centrally located between the participating venues. Please keep in mind that this is a REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP which means that some travel (generally 1-2 hours) will be required to compete.

- The Top 10% from each Regional Championship Event will qualify for the National Championships.
QUALIFYING
There are 5 ways a player can qualify for a Regional Championship;
- Top 10 Tavern Ranking – Every player that is ranked in the Top 10 at a venue for the season that regionals are being played for.
- Top 10% From Semi-Finals – Every player that finished in the Top 10% during a location’s Semi-Final Tavern Championship. (i.e. players that advanced to the Tavern Championship Finals)
- Tavern Guest Seat – Each tavern receives a Free Regional Seat to give to any player/customer they would like. Often times it is given to the TD or the Big Spender in the bar.
- Second Chance Tournament – The winner of the Second Chance Tournament on Tavern Championship night.
- Regional Ranking – Players can also qualify for Regional Championships based on their Regional Ranking however there is no set # of players that qualify in this way. Regional Ranking Qualifying is based on a number of factors including number of participating venues, # of players already qualified, etc.
OTHER NOTES:
- Regional Championship Seats ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE. Only those players who qualified can play.

- If you are in a market where there are no other hosting taverns or no available Regional Championship, your Tavern Champion will advance directly to the National Championship! Please check with your WTE Rep for clarification.

- If your tavern would like to be considered to host a Regional Championship, you must have the ability to seat a 120 player tournament comfortably. If you are interested please e-mail Taverns@WorldTavernPoker.com with the subject line Regional Championship Hosting Request.
Single Bar Markets (Winter 2012)
If there is not a Regional event within a reasonable driving distance, your bar will not be part of the regional championship events. However, because of this your Tavern Champion will go straight to the National Championship!
Check this list of bars in Single Markets to see if you are on the list. Remember the Tavern Champion from the bars on the list will be going to Nationals.

It’s that time of year again, Winter 2012 Regional Championship weekend, taking place March 30th and 31st from The Millennium Hotel in Durham
Rooms are available right now for $69.00 per night but are limited and always sell out.

Friday, March 30th
· 7pm big points game – Always over 150 players and are the largest game in the country
· 10pm – Start gathering your squad now, as we will be playing a Team Poker Tournament
o Register in teams of four (4) starting at 9pm, singles will be matched closer to start time
o Standard tournament with points being awarded based on place of finish
o All hotel guests will be playing for an added prize being awarded by The Millennium!!!
§ When checking in, guests will receive a card with spaces for four (4) names
§ The Millennium Team (made up of players who are staying in the hotel) who accumulate the most points, will all receive badges to WTP OPEN 14 (valued at over $400.00)
o Prizes also to be awarded to the best team score and overall winner

· 11 am – Last Chance Qualifier (Must not already have a seat in Regionals to be eligible to play)
· 11 am – Registration for Winter 2012 Regional Begins

· 6 pm – Dinner Break (30 minutes)
· 7 pm – Tag Team Tournament (both players have a stack!)
